Annuity Specialist
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Review & Analyze Contracts: Evaluate current annuity holdings to identify upgrade or exchange opportunities
- Surrender Charge Calculations: Accurately calculate and explain surrender fees and implications to clients
- Product Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of fixed index annuities, including growth, income, and legacy strategies
- Client Education: Clearly communicate annuity mechanics and upgrade benefits in client-friendly language
- Illustrations & Comparisons: Run and interpret product illustrations to demonstrate performance and added value
- IMO Collaboration: Partner with Independent Marketing Organizations to source competitive product options
- Consultative Sales: Present upgrade opportunities in a needs-based, solution-oriented manner
- Data Management: Collect and organize client data, policy details, and supporting documentation
- Carrier Coordination: Contact insurance companies to obtain contract values, performance history, and policy specifics
Qualifications
- Proven experience with fixed and fixed index annuities
- Strong understanding of surrender schedules and annuity product structures
- Ability to simplify complex financial concepts for clients
- Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills
- Self-motivated and proactive in identifying client opportunities
- Experience with insurance carriers, IMOs, or broker-dealer platforms (preferred)
- Insurance license (215) required; Series 65 or equivalent a plus
